Dr. Gladys Shafran Kashdin was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1921. A painter, photographer and collagist, Kashdin is a well-respected artist and professor whose artistic repertoire includes nearly 70 one-woman shows, 55 group exhibitions and the donation of American Abstract Expressionist research to the Smithsonian Institution.
